In Feb 28,2022, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Minister of natural resources, Julie Dablusin, on behalf of the distinguished Minister of natural resources, Jonathan Wilkinson, announced an investment of 2 million in Alectra Utilities Corporation to help support the installation of up to 340 electric vehicle charging point in Ontario.

This investment, funded through the Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) of Natural Resources Canada, will make it easier for everyone to charge electric vehicles via electric vehicle charging point.
Alectra will select recipients through a transparent process based on needs. Then, by October 2023, all electric vehicle charging point will be installed in public places, multi-unit residential buildings, streets and workplaces or facilities serving light fleets.
These investments are another step towards Canada's goal of ensuring that all new passenger electric vehicles sold in Canada will achieve zero emissions by 2035.
